Bean and Void: Issue 9: Idol Talk

Idol Talk

I sometimes wonder if people notice how they talk to one another or talk to themselves even. Idol Talk is a play off the term idle talk, the small talk that we come up with to engage with each other.  It's like we are trying to sell ourselves to them. I too, will admit I am guilty of doing this. But maybe bringing attention to it, might make some kind of difference.

We are all people. We all matter. We shouldn't have to sell ourselves or talk trash about others to feel better or gain some kind of connection or validation from someone. Your light will do that on its own and you'll know when you feel it.

This issue of Bean and Void is a prelude to issue 2. Void takes a stroll around town. Along her travels, she overhears people talking with one another and can't help but feel the negativity and pain that just seems to spread from one person to another. She starts to shut down and hide from the overwhelming feelings and transforms into her ghost form to hide from it all. But there is always a light that can be found in the dark and like the night sky, her stars just shine brighter.

Bean, taking a stroll of his own, sees Void even though she is trying to hide from the world in a transparent state. He notices her shining stars and can't help but be in awe and attracted to her light. As he announces his compliment to her, he dissolves the dark and replaces it with admiration.
